Trip to Alibaug - Ashtavinyak PALLI

This is the last one of the series. En-route back home, we decided to drop in at Palli, one of the prime pilgrimage spots in the 'Ashtavinayak' [eight forms of lord ganesha]. It was a refreshing trip.

There was a paragraph in Sanskrit which Shilpa read, as if she is reading the newspaper headline. Even after studying Sanskrit for 3 long years in college, I'm still bad at it. There was no camera allowed, else I would have tried to get the shloka

Trip to Alibaug - Mango Orchard

On the way back from Alibaug, we hit upon a beautiful mango orchard, mom recalled her 'childhood days' when she would climb the mango trees, pluck mangoes & eat before the mali came in. She wanted to try these stunts at this age also.

Finally we found the owner and purchased 10 dozen Alphonses from there. The best part of the trip was, we got the pluck the mangoes ourselves. They were so low!! Check mom & shilpa, they are a mouthful distance from it.!!

Trip to Alibaug - The Beach

After a long months work, we all needed a break and took a trip to Alibaug. We stayed at a hotel near the beach, the sea shore was just 500 meters away from the place. Did an overnight, at the place. It was a fun drive from Bombay to Alibaug. A good 2 - 2.5 hours drive.

There are other personal pics, but then this blog is only for the 'good' pics. I might add a few more ones on this. There is a pic of mom playing football, this is the first time I caught her on camera doing so!!

Swans on the Expressway

Enroute back to Pune, via the Bombay-Pune Expressway the bus usually stops at at food joint, where I found these swans (that's what I think they are!), enjoying themselves in the small pool provided for them

One fine day at office two guys and girls were wearing the same style of clothing, rather Manish & Abhishek had purchased the clothes from the same shop together. They decided to wear it the next day. The ladies also coincidently landed up with the same combination...

Golmal [ringa-ringa roses...]

This was long pending reunion with friends. Shilpa had just recovered from Facial Herpes, during which Johnny came down from Hongkong and Subbu from B'lore. Well do friends need an excuse to meet up!

Fun with candles

Well a few of my friends missed the fun with candle series when I had mailed them last. On request this is coming online...

I like the first and last ones in which the candle is behind me. It's called 'Divine Intervention' :)

Torch & shutter speeed

My roomie & me, were experimenting by keeping the shutter speed upto 5-6 seconds and writing with a torch on the wall and this is what we got. Pretty naive, but we liked the attempt.
